The ITW Spring Conference will be Saturday, February 24th, at Pike High School. The conference theme is Responding to Writing for Student Growth and will focus on strategies that help teachers respond to their students’ writing in ways that will enhance student expression. Helping students improve their writing skills requires more targeted yet responsive comments from their teachers. This workshop will offer participants specific ideas and strategies for responding to student work in ways that support the development of writers at all levels.
After an opening presentation by two teachers regarding basic principles and examples of response, participants will separate into small groups by teaching level for discussion and application of ideas. Each small group will be facilitated by a teacher from that level who has expertise in responding to student writing. The workshop will run 9-11:30, with a continental breakfast available.
Professional Growth Points available.
