Teachers in all content areas, at all levels, ask their students to write (and read). How can we move beyond seeing this as an obligation or a frustration and instead see writing and reading as ways of thinking and learning?
Another way to look at it: language across the curriculum. Humans use language to tell stories, share information, discuss ideas, and imagine possibilities, whether it’s in science, history, geography, art, music, math, civics, or health. We invite teachers in all these disciplines to share their experiences incorporating writing as a way of learning and thinking about the discipline–and across disciplines.
