Creating a Safe Place for the Dangerous Craft of Writing
The Indiana Teachers of Writing, in collaboration with the Indiana network of the National Writing Project and the Indiana Council of Teachers of English, invites you to join us at our 2022 Conference. Experienced classroom teachers at all levels, K-college, will help each other explore how we can encourage reluctant writers (including ourselves!) to take the risk of writing about challenging topics. How can we reinvigorate our teaching of writing in this environment?
We will invite educators to attend our in-person conference in Indianapolis or to join us online. We will stream the keynote panel presentation, and follow that with three face-to-face breakout sessions; each time slot will include an online presentation that participants from around the state (or nation) can attend.
REGISTRATION: $85 in-person attendees; $65 virtual; $35 students and adjuncts.
Registration includes membership in ITW and a subscription to the Journal of Teaching Writing. In-person registration includes coffee in the morning and a box lunch.
